Up From Depression
— We talk to ourselves all the time. When you are depressed or feeling down, that self-talk may include comments such as: “I hate my life. I’m fed up, Life sucks,” etc. With this program, your self-talk will change to: “I am blessed. I choose happiness. Living is joyous. I contribute to life. I am in control. I enjoy myself,” and more. It’s hard to feel down when your inner beliefs are so positive and joyful.
Replace that negative, depressing, self-talk
with self-talk that uplifts and inspires!
Everyone experiences depression at one time or another, and depression can come in varying degrees. For most people it is just the case of the blues, but for others it can be a lot more serious. Feeling depressed can be a normal reaction to loss, life’s struggles, or an injured self-esteem. Its effects can be short or long term, have minor impact or become disabling. An estimated 350 million people suffer from some form of depression (World Health Organization), making this a global health issue. When depression persists, it keeps you from having a normal, active, and happy life. Chronic depression can lead to more stress, exacerbate the physical ailments you already have, and cause dysfunction in various aspects of your work, school, home, and personal life.
Research
In a double-blind study carried out by Colorado State University, it was found that using the InnerTalk program for depression for more than 17 hours, led to a significant decrease in depression according to the Beck Depression scale. This study not only shows the effectiveness of the program, but also indicates that its success is dosage relevant. The more you play the program, the more you benefit from it.
